April 25 is ANZAC Day.. Let us remember..

Don’t be surprised to see poppies flowering in the stores, or even decorated along the streets. On the month of April, the people of New Zealand (and even Australia) will remember ANZAC day.
This is an occasion that people, every year, pay tribute and remember. ANZAC stands for Australia and New Zealand Army Corps, these members landed at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War. It is a public holiday in some parts of the world like the Cook Islands, Samoa and many more.
The Dawn Parades and other commemoration or memorials nationwide are attended by the local community, as well as the uniformed community service groups.
ANZAC Day promotes a sense of unity for everyone. Paper poppies are given away and worn as symbols of remembrance. The day is a half-day holiday in New Zealand, as per the Anzac Day Act 1966. But this is not only a remembrance of war, it is also a celebration of life for many!

Anvil Shooting Festival

What’s interesting in Laurel,Mississippi in April? The all-time festival state: The Anvil Shooting Festival. It’s a bit bizarre, but for the people of Mississippi, it’s all fun!
The annual event at Laurel’s Wood Expo held every April dates back to the Civil War when the Yanks came through the South destroying all of the metal works. They’d put gun powder underneath the anvils and try to blow them up. And up they went, up in the air. Now, from this historical event, sprouts a bizarre festival that everyone loves and enjoys!
If you wish to join the event, the rules are simple. The anvils must be made of steel and weigh at least 100 lbs. Not more than 2 pounds of black powder can be used to blast that anvil in the air. There are two classes in the event, the Traditional and the Super Modified. In the Traditional class, shooters use real, antique anvils and shot the traditional way. Some anvils shot the traditional may reach heights up to 100 feet, but for some that’s not high enough, now that’s the Super-Modified category.
But here’s something you should know: No one has ever been crushed by a falling anvil and no one has ever lost an arm to the explosive blasts.
Don’t miss out on this explosive event when touring around the Deep South!

Australia World Youth Day

The World Youth Day is the largest youth event in the whole world, and this year the event will be held in Sydney from July 15 to July 20, 2008.
Every two to three years, since the conception of the event by Pope John Paul II, the Catholic Church gathers all the youth from around the world to build bridges of hope and friendship between continents and cultures. Pope Benedict XVI has chosen the event to be hosted by the Australian State when he announced it last August 2005.
WYD08 will be the first visit to Sydney, Australia of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.
Young people throughout the world will make this pilgrimage to Australia with their faith to rediscover the beauty of the Gospel.
If you are traveling to Sydney at that time, be sure not to miss this event with the company of the youth, the Pope, the beauty of Sydney, and the hospitality of the Australian people!

Koalas? Where?!

It's my first time in Australia and I was expecting koalas and kangaroos to roam the streets freely much like in some asian country where the sacred bulls and cows roam the streets like they own it. But no! I felt the aussie charm right away after I stepped off from our campervan hire australia. It's the greatest feeling because this was the first time I actually went outside the country!

I've done island hopping before but I have never made it to another continent. It was pretty exciting to see all the sights here, and I've tried some of their food. I couldn't finish off a plate! A few of our fellow campervan enthusiasts shared a table with us, and being adventurous we each ordered different types of food. And when I say different, I mean ostrich, deer and many more mammalians and birds. It was delicious! At first I told myself to think it was just a cow's leg. So I kept thinking beef, beef, beef! So I wouldn't feel sorry. I couldn't finish the whole leg.
They even thought of joining that contest where a person has to eat one whole steak of twenty pounds!

Well, so much of our first night, I almost had a stomach ache and a day in the washroom. If you really think about it, I had fun! Tomorrow it's off to the parks and preserves. Now I get to see the real kangaroos and crocs and koalas! I'll make them probably my next post cards. Which reminds me, I left my camera in the motorhome rental.

A Good Barbie

Australians love to barbecue. I even joked around with a campervan rental neighbor that Aussies pretty much have barbies on every day of the year. I joked. With a deadpan face he had to agree and said that was pretty much the case. My joke bummed. I discovered how much they enjoy barbecues and how much they worship and maintained the grill. One time while passing by a local park I noticed brick pit grills. I checked it out. There was no one in the area so I turned the knob. It sprang to life! I was really surprised. There weren’t any coin slots or anything. A local ranger passed by and I asked him about this, he said it’s a common thing around Australia. These were provided by our friendly neighborhood park authorities. You don’t need to get a permission to grill one big chop and juicy steak!

Makes me want to bring my whole freezer and try it out. But that’d be stupid letting my childlike curiosity get the best of me.

I decided to go to the local tourist information centers in the area. I asked if there was an occasion or a holiday coming up.

Sure enough there’s the Steve Irwin Day. A memoriam day for the croc hunter and there will be backyard camp outs and people wearing khakis. Not to mention loads and loads of barbecue grills! Grill galore!

So rather than spending our day inside the motorhome, we joined the grilling and the buzzing for Steve Irwin!

Motorhome Rental

Traveling is the most regarded lifestyle an individual can invest on since it involves constant and solid planning and cooperative external factors like the weather condition. But one cannot deny the intense feeling he gets from starting off on his first trip to a foreign land, driving into the unknown with a map and road guides, and the “i don't want to go home yet” charm when nearing the end of the trip, let's say, on a New Zealand Motorhome Rental?

A campervan hire or motorhome rental can give you exactly that. Why? You only pack once, not having to worry about over-packing and forgetting to leave your unmentionables at the hotel room. You do not have to worry about hotel accommodations and check out times every single day. You and your family and friends get to save on food and fuel. Most of all, save on time, money and disappointment. With lots of storage space and room space, ideal for entertainment - without worrying about breaking hotel furniture or overcharge stays. Even the kids would love to run around in it. Yes, a motorhome is kid-friendly, with booster and baby seats, and safety features too!

You have all the necessities you need from a motor home. It is simply a mobile home. It has a shower (hot and cold), kitchen and beds and living space you can rely on, much like in your own home. The only difference is, you get to travel with it. You don't have to worry about going potty, you don't have to hold it in, the wash room is just a few feet away. Snack on your trip while driving to and from places, getting energized for that afternoon shopping. Get to enjoy the many outdoor activities like swimming and surfing at cool beaches with accessible food and extra clothes a few feet away. Equipped with a freezer and kitchen equipment. Then at the end of the day, kick back, and sleep a sound sleep with the comforts of great air-conditioning and the company of family and friends.

The vehicle is much enjoyed when you are booked on a longer trip, it isn't much fun when you just drive around for a day. One reason is you wouldn't get to cover the places and major tourist destinations in the area. With time on your hand, you get to go wherever you want, at your own pace. And most of all, spending some quality time with the company that came along with. When you get to the pick up point, your campervan rental is set and ready to go. Everything and anything at a reasonable cost.

So plan that next vacation on a motor home. Just remember to book in advance. Talk with a friendly reservationist to assist in accommodating your bookings and inquiries, along with the insurance matters. I suggest with a New Zealand Motorhome Rental. Travel the stress-free way, I suggest in a campervan rental. Keep in mind, this trip has its bonus: You get to learn about life, and exchange some pretty neat ideas along the way.

The Best Way to Travel in NZ

New Zealand is becoming very popular recently, considering its exposure in many movies.

The Lord of the Ring trilogies to name one! To see the outdoors and its rich expanse, choosing to explore New Zealand by motorhome is a wonderful idea.
Many travelers can't wait to see the sights.

One very big mistake they often do is that they hurry to see them, and oftentimes they miss out on some of the really good sights and even the little things that make the whole trip worthwhile. You would rather want to spend quality time with your company when you travel. Let your travel time sink in on your own time, relaxing and taking it slow or at your own pace.

New Zealand is furiously beautiful. I'm sure you get my drift and I'm sure you've probably seen one or two or even the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy. Take note that some of the movie sets are still there until now. Don't come rushing to New Zealand to see them all in just a few days. Do it the right way and go with the flow. Travel in New Zealand by a motorhome or campervan and get to see them all in your own pace.

Popularly known in New Zealand and even in Australia, motorhomes and campervan rentals are one of the many options visitors choose to travel. The land is plentiful from it's people to its tourist destinations, soothing atmosphere, and has fine roads for travel.

Thinking of traveling to New Zealand? This is the perfect opportunity to put this advice into practice.

New Zealand is a friendly place. Hiring a motorhome rental or campervan hire is the best way to explore the country.
