Set in a serene bushland environment surrounded by regenerating native forest and nestled adjacent to the Wentworth River. A number of walks start at the campground and includes mines, waterfalls and extensive views of the coromandel ranges. Wentworth Valley Campground is located on Wentworth Valley Rd and distance is 1.8 km south of Whangamata.
Whangamata Jazz Art and Blues Festival will also include the opening of the Pohutukawa Festival. Live music will fill Whangamata's main street, and a variety of other locations, throughout the weekend. The main ticketed event, with headline acts, will be held at the Whangamata Sports grounds from NOON onwards, tickets are $25 and will be available from local information centres.
